The Company of God

Tonight we begin Genesis 39 by studying the first six verses. In these verses the narrative of Joseph’s life begins. In Joseph we see a type of Christ. This is seen most prominently in the final 11 chapters of Genesis through God’s presence being always with Jospeh. “The Lord was with Joseph” becomes a regular refrain throughout the rest of the book. Tonight, we will look at this idea, what it meant for Joseph and how it continues to apply to us today.
