A Heavy Burden

Today our series brings us to John 19:16b-22. Jesus now begins making his way to Calvary and John tells us very simply that there he was crucified. John also is intentional to share with his readers that Jesus bore His own cross. Why does he ensure that he shares this detail while speaking nothing of Simon’s help in carrying the cross?
