Today we look at John 19:23-27 and the continuing passion of Jesus Christ. In these verses we’re given two scenes by John: 1) the dividing of Jesus’ garments and 2) His words to John & Mary. Again, we must ask ourselves why John shares these accounts? It is not enough to say that John was simply recording history, for John is not a historian. John is intentional in sharing each of these movements, and both of our scenes this morning speak to us something powerfully about what Jesus is accomplishing on the cross. Join us as we look at this passage today.
