Not Condemned?

This morning we arrive at a very interesting place in John’s gospel, John 7:53-8:11. In most English translations of God’s Word these verses are bracketed or footnoted, stating something along the lines of “these verses are not found in the earliest manuscripts.” This presents us with something we must explore and understand in order that: 1) We are clear on what constitutes God’s Word, 2) We are confident in the voracity of God’s Word and 3) We are preaching God’s inspired Word alone. Today we will explore the potential difficulties with this text, establish why we can be confident in God’s Word and then see a vivid display of God’s mercy & grace throughout the whole of God’s inspired Word.
