The Joy Of Submission

Tonight we are looking at Genesis 43:1-14. We continue to follow the story of Joseph’s brothers and how God is working on their family to bring about true faith and true repentance. Tonight we see that God continues this work by bringing about a forced submission in Jacob’s heart that will lead to the brothers reuniting with Joseph. Submission is difficult. Submission is even more difficult within a cultural context that finds it appalling. Yet, God continues to work through submission today just as He did then. How does Jacob come to this place of submission that will lead to an abundance of joy? How can we as a church better embrace the joy that is meant to be found through submission? Join us as we see how our gracious God works through the means of submission to bring to His people the joy He has in store for them.
