Mary Magdalene

Today our sermon will focus on John 20:11-18 and the first of three appearance accounts that John gives to us immediately following Jesus’ resurrection. The first of these accounts involves Mary Magdalene. This account is packed full of wonderful doctrinal and Gospel truth as we find Mary distraught outside the tomb moments before she is to see her resurrected Lord. Why, in Mary’s distress, did she miss all of the clues? What is it that changes for Mary as she hears Jesus say her name and what is the risen Lord inviting her into?
