The Shell

Today we will look at John 7:14-24. This is the second half of the text that deals with Jesus during The Feast of Booths. In the first part Jesus’ interaction is with His brothers and in this section He is interacting with the Jewish crowd. In these verses Jesus exposes their (and our) tendency to focus on the outward appearance, which leads them to a wrong judgment and understanding of who Jesus is. We will walk through these verses and seek to understand how we are all, at times, seduced by the shell. Jesus also graciously shows us what a transformed will looks like and how important it is that our desires and affections match Christ’s. Join us as we walk through these verses together.
