Jacob vs. Israel

Tonight we finish Genesis 45 by studying verses 25-28. As this chapter comes to a close we find Joseph’s brothers returning home to share the news of Egypt with their father. Their father’s response at first, while possibly to be expected, was one of doubt and disbelief. This posture, though, quickly changes. Why? What is it that moves Jacob from a posture of doubt to belief? Is doubt a virtue? Is real faith an unattainable ideal? Join us as we study these verses and wrestle with these ideas of doubt vs. real faith.
