The Sweet Exchange

Tonight we close out Genesis 44 by looking at verses 18-34. In these verses we find one of the most heartfelt and impassioned pleas in all of Scripture. The silver cup has been discovered in Benjamin’s sack and the brothers have returned, humiliated, to present themselves to the prime minister of Egypt. As the brothers stand before Joseph we see Judah stepping forward to plead with the prime minister on behalf of his father and brother. In this plea we find the evidence of a transformed heart and the whisperings of a Savior yet to come. Join us as we explore Judah’s transformation and how his posture before Joseph explicitly points us to the substitutionary work of Jesus Christ.
