Grace Hurts

Tonight we are preaching Philippians 4:5. Paul continues his exhortations to the church that revolve around the call to unity within the church. The word of exhortation that Paul gives is an unusual word that has given translators issues throughout the years. The word has been translated as gentleness, gentle spirit, forbearing spirit, moderation or reasonableness. The problem is that all of these words aren’t synonyms. How are we to understand Paul’s language? What he calls the church to “reasonableness” (ESV), what does he mean? Join us as we seek to understand Paul’s heart and our call as the church today from Philippians 4:5.
