Spirit-Oriented Disciples

This morning we are looking at John 16:4b-15. Jesus has just told His disciples that they will be His disciples, they will be persecuted and even killed for their witness and now He tells them that it is better that they go in order that the Holy Spirit would be sent to them. How does all of this fit together? Why would it be better for Jesus to go? What is the connection between being witnesses for Jesus and the Holy Spirit’s coming?
