The Sovereignly Slain Savior
Today we will preach through John 18:28-32 and the beginning of Jesus’ Roman trial. As Jesus is brought before Pilate our human eyes may tell us that the Jews are in charge or that Pilate and Rome is in charge. Yet, a closer look at the text shows us that none of this is happening apart from God’s ordained will. What are we to make of that? How does God’s sovereignty frame our understanding of Jesus’ trial and death? Join us as we look at this passage together.
