The Sons of Flame
This morning we finish John 4 by looking at verses 46-54. In this text we find the account of an official from Capernaum coming to ask Jesus to heal his dying son. This miracle is connected by John with Jesus’ first miracle in Cana at the wedding feast. While there are several similarities in these two accounts, John is connecting them to show the progression in this account from Jesus’ first miracle at Cana. This progression shows Jesus’ heart in longing for people to know & trust Him in order that they would truly understand that He is the Son of God, Lord of all and what mankind ultimately needs in all situations of life. Whether in times of sorrow or joy, Jesus is the One who orders all situations and grants us the lasting joy that can only come from knowing and trusting in Him.
