Reorient

As we come to Nehemiah 5 we find that Nehemiah continues to encounter forces that seem determined to halt, or at least slow down, the rebuilding of the Jerusalem wall. In Nehemiah 4 these forces came from outside of the people of God, but tonight, in Nehemiah 5, the opposition comes from within. Nehemiah comes to find out that exploitation and oppression is befalling some of the Jewish people at the hands of the Jewish elite. Nehemiah’s response shows us the seriousness of this problem and his call to action teaches us what should lie at the heart of the people of God. Join us as we continue our walk through Nehemiah and learn what it looks like to be the people of God.
