Barren

Tonight we will be looking at Nehemiah 11. As we come to another list of names we are left to wonder, what are we to learn from yet another list of difficult names to pronounce? Nehemiah 11 tells us of the inhabitants that move into Jerusalem. At this point, Jerusalem is a barren land and God is now filling it in order that Jerusalem would be established as the city God intends it to be. Why, though, is Jerusalem so important? What we see here is a theme that plays out all throughout Scripture: God brings life to barren places. Join us as we explore this Biblical theme and see how we continue to be a part of the story where God restores that which is desolate.
