A Sinner Set Free

This morning we will be looking at John 18:39-40. In these verses Pilate makes an attempt to set Jesus free by offering to either release Jesus or Barabbas. At his shock and dismay the Jewish crowd prefers to set Barabbas free and crucify Jesus. What are we to make of such a choice? How does this short account point decisively to the Gospel?
